The moment you've been waiting for has finally come, G raduation!!   Now I know it isn't, in any way, how you imagined you'd be celebrating the many years of school you've accomplished but one of the most important keys to life I've learned thus far is, "Life is what YOU make of it!" Frankly, you can either allow yourself to become overwhelmed with frustration or you can make a positive, self-conscious decision to make the best of this time with the cards you've been dealt. You have that power! Over the course of the past couple of months, you've had to overcome obstacles that you'll talk about and share for years to come. Facing uncertainty, yet showing you were resilient. There's no doubt that some of the brightest and strongest minds are going to emerge from your generation and make advancements for the future of the world. I suspect that you will lead the way to some revolutionary ideas and technology to further improve the structure

Start Your Day The Right Way

In a "perfect world", I would have  all  the time I needed and I could check off  all  the things on my list and most likely have time to spare. But we don't live in a perfect world. We get sidetracked and sh!t happens. Unexpected calls, emails, or meetings that require our attention take the spotlight. Most days, from the moment I wake up to the second I lay my head on my pillow, my mind is actively engaged. I see the sun peeking through the curtains in the morning and think, "today is the day!" Like most people, I have a to-do list so that I can manage my time and maximize productivity while I'm awake. But I haven't always been that way. Over the last decade or so, I have tried and tested many different methods for efficacy in time management to aid in getting things done. In a nutshell, they all pretty much result around extensive planning. Starting your day with the toughest, longest, or least liked task, being most popular. Now, think about that

SPECIAL: Mother's Day 2020

Whether your mom held your hand the second you entered this world or your mother reached her arms out for you at a certain age, one thing is for sure, you will always be apart of her life and you will always mean the world to her. There's a special bond between a mother and child that, I believe, the dictionary has no words for. It's a feeling. This deep, cosmic connection that can only be felt. Maybe it's because the first thing we ever heard was her voice. There's a familiarity and contentment in her tone that offers comfort and seems to lower our blood pressure and console us. I grew up being a mommy's girl. I'm not talking about playing dress-up, having tea parties, or having a mani/pedi spa day. I was more of a tomboy. So was my mother. I think a lot of that has to do with how she grew up and then how she raised me. Thinking back to my childhood though, I do remember the days she'd get ready and I'd just sit and watch as she sprayed

Why Damn Good Life, you ask?

Awesome question! One I will try my best to answer without over complicating it. No pressure, right- haha! Well, I'm human just like you and I'm always looking for ways to better my health and my daily life. I took some time with my thoughts and decided on creating a blog. Then the Damn Good Life blog was born. A place where you and I can mentally check out from the chaos of the world and focus on something important, self-care. I plan on making things encouraging and authentic for the DGL community here and myself. There's so much out there that sounds so 'robotic', if you know what I mean. Take, for example, you type a few keywords into a search engine and what do you get? Mostly, a generalized list of options from big names. Maybe, it's a Wikipedia definition. Whatever the case may be, there's just something about human-to-human connection. Take a look at another example and ask yourself, "Who do you confide in more, acquaintances or friends?&quo
